O'Shaquie Foster Unifies Three Super-Featherweight Titles: Boxing Weekend Results

26 October 2026 • 2 min lettura

The boxing weekend of October 24, 2026 delivered two major world-title stories on opposite sides of the Atlantic. In San Antonio, Texas, O'Shaquie Foster outboxed Emanuel Navarrete to bring three major super-featherweight championships together. In Sheffield, England, Dalton Smith kept his WBC super-lightweight title after a closely contested split decision against former champion Alberto Puello.

O'Shaquie Foster defeats Emanuel Navarrete and unifies three belts

Foster won by unanimous decision at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, taking Navarrete's WBO and IBF titles while retaining his WBC championship. Top Rank reported scorecards of 118-108, 118-108 and 115-111. Foster also scored two knockdowns in the 12th round, underlining a strong finish to a performance built on movement, counterpunching and well-timed responses.

Navarrete kept pressing, but Foster's ability to control distance and avoid prolonged exchanges made it difficult for the Mexican champion to impose his usual high-volume style. The result puts Foster one title away from becoming undisputed at 130 pounds, a goal he said remains his priority.

Why the result matters

Unification fights clarify a division's hierarchy. With three of the four major belts now held by Foster, attention turns to the remaining championship and the mandatory challengers who could affect the route to undisputed status. For Navarrete, the defeat raises questions about how he adjusts against opponents who can counter while denying him clean entries.

Dalton Smith retains the WBC super-lightweight title in Sheffield

At Utilita Arena in Sheffield, Dalton Smith defended his WBC super-lightweight championship against Alberto Puello by split decision. Two judges scored the 12-round contest 115-113 for Smith, while the third had it 116-112 for Puello. The result kept Smith unbeaten at 20 professional wins and completed his first defence of the title he won earlier in the year.

The bout was tactical and close, with Puello's experience and southpaw style making the defence demanding. Smith's success in the later rounds helped him edge the decision, but the divided scorecards showed how competitive the contest was.

What comes next for Smith?

Retaining the belt keeps Smith in the leading group at 140 pounds, a division with several high-profile contenders and potential unification opportunities. The close nature of the fight also gives his team useful material to review: against elite opposition, small stretches of activity and ring positioning can decide championship rounds.

Other results worth noting

The San Antonio card also saw Frank Martin stop Tarik Zaina in the seventh round and Albert Gonzalez halt Edward Vazquez in the second. These supporting results added depth to a card headlined by Foster's title unification.

The bigger picture for boxing fans

The weekend highlighted two different paths to staying at the top. Foster combined defensive judgement with precise counters and a late surge; Smith had to navigate a difficult, experienced challenger over the full distance. Both results show why championship boxing is about more than power: distance management, adaptation and winning the key moments remain decisive.
